This polyptych was my first full series in the learning stages of my darkroom photography work. Each panel explores the concept of women’s objectified roles as they go through life. The idea of having an “expiration date” as a woman always disturbed me. From being your father’s little girl, to a young “sex symbol”, to the perfect housewife, there’s always a predestined role to play. In the last image, I wanted to show that fundamentally we’re not that different as humans. I continue to explore the subject of objectification as a young girl later into my work but this is where it started.
